Miss Tourism San Fernando 2017 Winners

The moment of truth came last night for the nine lovely candidates of the very first Miss Tourism San Fernando graced the stage of the San Fernando Cultural and Sports Complex for the coronation night. Candidate from Barangay San Isidro Ms. Cybelshen Khesley Babatid was crowned Miss Tourism San Fernando 2017. It was not an easy fight for Cybelshen since all of the girls were equally beautiful and stunning but the she stood out the most with her wit and elegance.

The other winners were Candidate from Barangay Greenhills, Kristel dela Pena, first runner up and from Barangay Pitalo, Alyzzah Rose Pelimer, as second runner-up.

Miss Tourism San Fernando 2017 is presented to you by the Local Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Neneth Reluya through the Tourism Office headed by Dr. Charita Booc-Lasala. It is co-sponsored by Smart Communication and Saturday Dress.


2017 San Fernando Fiesta Celebration

Once again, officials of LGU-San Fernando together with the support and cooperation of various schools and other government organizations, NGO’s and civic organizations – pool resources and talents to celebrate the feast of our beloved patron saint, San Isidro Labrador.

As we commemorate the feast of San Isidro Labrador with all pomp, gaiety, and trimmings, we should not be obvious of the significance of the event. Local Job Fair 2017

Hundreds of job seekers trooped to the San Fernando Cultural Complex for the one-day job fair. LGU San Fernando Public Employment Service Office (Peso) Manager Jehannarica N. Pelimer said about  290 job seekers have registered during the job fair activity last Sunday, April 9, 2017.

 A total of 10 local companies with 0 overseas agencies joined the fair offering various positions. Included in the line up of employers are Aboitiz , AdelPhi and many more.

 About 51 job seekers were hired on the spot.

 The aim of the job fair is to allow companies to meet potential employees and also gives job seekers opportunity to find job opportunities and part of Peso’s efforts to fulfill its mandate to help provide employment opportunities for the constituents.

 LGU San Fernando PESO facilitated the Jobs Fair in partnership with the Cebu Provincial Government – PESO Office.


CTU San Fernando – Social Science Research Center Ground Breaking Ceremony

 Local Government Unit of San Fernando together with Cebu Technological University yesterday April 10, 2017 broke ground on the construction and at the same time MOA Signing of CTU San Fernando –Social Science Research Center in Barangay San Isidro.
The ground breaking ceremony was attended by the local officials of San Fernando headed by Mayor Neneth Reluya, Vice-Mayor Fralz Sabalones, SB Councilors (Eutiquio O. Baricuatro, Philip Jude Medalla, Erico Enad, Alfonso Donaire IV, Alexander Alicaway, Edwin Q. Villaver and Johnny Arriesgado), CTU-San Fernando Campus Director Romeo C. Lepiten, CTU-SF Graduate School faculty members, several government employees, students both graduate and undergraduate and business dignitaries.
Mayor Neneth Reluya together with Evalinda Pelimer was the one who initiated the establishment of the CTU-San Fernando Social Science Research Center. The project will soon rise on the lot owned by the Department of Environment Natural Resources in San Isidro.


San Fernando, Cebu joins National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

Today, March 31 is declared as the National Simultaneous Earthquake drill. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the nationwide earthquake drill that aims to familiarize the people with the duck-cover-hold technique and the evacuation plans and procedures and to test their preparedness for the eventuality of a powerful temblor.

The local government unit of San Fernando, under the supervision of Mayor Neneth Reluya and through the joined forces of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council headed by Dr. Rowell Panuncial, Bureau of Fire Protection led by Chief Insp. Cecil Alicaya, RHU under Dr. Alfredo Manugas IV and the Engineering Department headed by Engr. Shelly Rias conducted an earthquake drill held at the Municipal Hall.

The drill was well participated by the LGU employees which aim to ensure the safety of everybody during and after a damaging earthquake.

Blessing and Opening of RHU2 in Brgy. Magsico

The Local Government Unit of San Fernando strives to provide all its constituents with basic services regardless of their geographical location in the municipality. One of the basic services that need to address is the health services of people especially to those who are living in the mountainous area.

In order to address this basic health service to its constituents in the mountainous barangay, Rural Health Unit of San Fernando held a blessing and opening of the RHU2 Center last Monday, March 27 in Barangay Magsico with local officials, RHU staff, barangay officials and local residents especially those who wants to avail the health services were invited to look at the new facility.

The blessing of the new health facility we’re led by our municipal Mayor Neneth Reluya, SB Councilor Philip Jude Medalla, SB Councilor Etiquio Baricuatro , RHU Head Dr. Alfredo Manugas IV and it was officiated by Rev. Murphy Sarsonas.
