San Fernando is situated in the southeastern coast of Cebu and is about 29 kilometers from Cebu City. The municipality is bounded on the north by the municipality of Carcar, on the west by the municipality of Pinamungahan, on the south by the municipality of Naga and on the east by Cebu Strait.
San Fernando is composed of 21 barangays namely: Balud, Balungag, Basak, Bugho, Cabatbatan, Greenhills, Ilaya, Lantawan, Liburon, Magsico, Poblacion North, Panadtaran, Pitalo, San Isidro, Sangat, Poblacion South, Tabionan, Tananas, Tinubdan, Tonggo, & Tubod.
San Fernando, Cebu has a total population of 66,280 inhabitants according to the 2015 census. Based on the 2015 census, San Fernando’s population is growing at an average of +1.60% per annum.
