Aiphrelle Uy of Barangay Cabatbatan wins this year Miss Tourism San Fernando. Our Municipal Mayor Lakambini Reluya, Provincial Board Member Yolanda Daan, Mr. Shigeki Koide of Taheiyo Cement Philippines and outgoing Miss Tourism San Fernando Cebu 2017 Cybelshen Khesley Babatid, crowned her. The coronation night was held last Saturday, May 12, at the San Fernando Sports and Cultural Complex.

Aside from the crown, Aiphrelle also won Ms. Photogenic, Best in Long Gown, Best in Swimwear, and Miss Saturday Dress. Being this year Ms. Tourism, Aiphrelle Uy will be the ambassadress of San Fernando.

First Dental Summit

Over hundreds of participants gathered last April 5, 2018 at North Central Elementary School for the first-ever Dental Summit Event organized by the Health Department of Local Government Unit of Municipality of San Fernando headed by Dr. Alfredo Manugas VI, Dr. Maria Viola P. Genebraldo, Dr. Connie Tarakan and Dr. Camille Peñalosa, with the supervision of Mayor Neneth Reluya.

The theme for this First Dental Summit was Ngipon Gigalam sa Pagkabata Himsog nga Pahiyo Hangtud sa Pagkamtong.  San Fernando constituents mostly mothers attended the said event.

SEDC – St. Augustine EcoPilrimage Park first of its kind in Central Visayas

Solid Earth Development Corporation led by their President Atty. Dennis Tenefrancia together with Taheiyo Cement Inc. Officials, Representative from DENR Region 7, Newly Elected President of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Consul Antonio Chiu, LGU-San Fernando Executive Officials represented by the Municipal Administrator Ricci Regen Reluya, SB Officials led by Vice Mayor Franz Sabalones and Barangay Officials inaugurated the seven hectare SEDC-St. Augustine EcoPilgrimage Park in Sitio Dubdub, Brgy Magsico, San Fernando.

The inauguration was also blessed in the presence of Cebu Archibishop Jose Palma together with Father Murphy Sarsonas (Chairman, Cebu Archdiocesan Commission for Environmental Concerns).

In his message, Cebu Archibishop Jose Palma stressed that we are fortunate and blessed with a very beautiful creation of God – which is nature, our common home and as guardians; we have to take good care of it.

SEDC-St. Augustine EcoPilgrimage Park is a first of its kind in the whole Central Visayas that offers complete nature experience for pilgrims who want pray in a serene environment especially this coming Holy Week cause it also has Stations of the Cross.


BUB Project Turnover

bub2Farmer group gathered last Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Barangay Balungag during the turnover of the BUB Livelihood Program. The project turnover event was headed by our Municipal Administrator, Ricci Regen Reluya, Barangay Officials of Barangay Balungag headed by their Brgy Captain Rolando Barulo and his councilors, as well representatives from the DSWD who were there to oversee the proper transfer of said project to its intended beneficiaries.

The project was started March 2016 with an estimated budget of P1,000,000.00 and was only approved by December 2016 with an additional LGU contribution of P226,000.00 totaling to 1,226,000.00

With the help of this BUB program, new doorways to alternate sustainable income of the farmers.

Supportive of San Fernando’s vision to have a Drug & Crime Free Municipality, the Local Government Unit of San Fernando, Cebu headed by Mayor Neneth Reluya together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) lead the launching of Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomaliya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA MASID) program.
